Batch edit product photos with a final review
Batch editing helps with repeated decisions. It works best when you group similar photos, test the shared settings on a few examples, and inspect the exceptions before exporting the full set.
Group the source images
Separate photos by product type, lighting, and angle. A group of shoes photographed from the side is easier to handle consistently than a mixed set of shoes, chains, and reflective bottles.
Keep the files for each item together. Use names that distinguish the main photo, detail view, and back view. Confirm the group is complete before editing so a later export does not mix products between listings.
Choose a representative image
Start with a photo that reflects the average lighting and framing in the set. Choose the background, crop, and margin. Then test those choices on the tallest, widest, and most detailed items before applying them to everything.
A layout that works for one short bottle may crop a taller one too tightly. Fix the layout or split the set into separate groups before doing more work.
Apply the shared choices
Use Lightbox’s batch editor to repeat a background and layout across selected images. Start from a saved template, or set the background, canvas, and product size directly. A batch edit changes only the settings you touch, so each photo keeps its own placement.
Keep exposure corrections appropriate to each source. Applying an identical brightness change to differently lit photos can make the set less consistent rather than more.
Review the images that need attention
Inspect the whole group as a grid, then open individual images. Look for missing handles, included props, transparent packaging, loose straps, and objects too close to the frame edge. In Lightbox, a photo the batch could not change is marked Needs attention in the grid.
Check label text and material texture after any generated or retouched edit. Keep a real source photo nearby for comparison. A repeated background should not mean accepting the same error across many images.
Export by destination
Prepare separate sets when your shop and social channels need different shapes. Keep filenames connected to the original items and verify that the number of exported files matches the set you intended.
Open a few saved files at full size and check them after upload. The preview in the editor is not the final place the customer sees the photo.
Save the workflow for the next shoot
Keep the camera position, lighting, and background setup similar next time. Reuse a template, but test it again when the product category or photo conditions change.
