Start with a clear product image

An Amazon listing needs a recognizable main image and supporting photos that answer practical questions. Photograph the actual product carefully before deciding which edits it needs.

Prepare the main image separately

A simple white background keeps attention on the item. Lightbox’s white background workflow can combine a reviewed cutout with a plain canvas and deliberate spacing.

As of September 18, 2026, Amazon’s product photography guidance describes pure white as RGB 255, 255, 255 and recommends having the product fill at least 85 percent of the frame. Category-specific requirements can differ. Check the rules for your listing before exporting. See Amazon’s product photo guide.

Use supporting images to explain the product

Add views that show dimensions, material, packaging, and how the product is used. Make it clear which components are included. A photo of a real person using the item can explain scale when a plain product view cannot.

Keep the main image and supporting images as separate versions. An attractive lifestyle composition is not automatically suitable for the main image slot.

Review generated scenes closely

Lightbox’s AI backgrounds create settings for still photos. Before using a generated composition, check labels, shape, surface detail, and implied scale against the real item. Do not let a generated accessory appear to be part of the purchase.

Our AI product photography guide offers a practical review sequence.

Upload and inspect

Check the image in the listing tools, including its crop and zoom view.

Upload the finished files through Amazon’s listing tools and review them against your category’s requirements. Read beta access and the image resizing guide.
