Use AI around a real product photo
AI can help create a setting for a product image. The useful starting point is a clear photo of the actual item, followed by a careful check that the edited result still shows what a buyer will receive.
Decide what should change
Separate the environment from the product. A new wall, tabletop, or background color can change the composition without needing a different item. Write down the details that must remain accurate, such as shape, color, label text, and material.
Lightbox’s AI backgrounds focus on settings for still product photos. It does not generate models, product videos, or ghost mannequin images.
Describe a simple setting
Start with a surface, a light direction, and a restrained background. For example, a pale stone surface, soft light from the left, and a plain warm wall is easier to evaluate than an elaborate room full of props.
Match the request to the perspective of the source photo. A product photographed from above will not naturally fit every eye-level scene. Keep nearby objects out of the composition if they could confuse the item’s size or what is included.
Compare the product with the source
Review these details before using a generated result.
- The outer shape and proportions still match the real item.
- Seams, buttons, clasps, and handles are present and correctly placed.
- Label text and logos have not changed.
- Material texture remains believable and accurate.
- Wear and condition details remain visible where relevant.
- The scene does not add accessories that look included in the purchase.
Do not rely on a small thumbnail for this check. Open the result at a size that reveals the details buyers will inspect.
Check light and contact
Look at the direction of highlights on the product and the direction of shadows in the setting. A shoe should appear to rest on the surface, not float above it. A reflected object should have a plausible position and shape.
If the scene needs repeated repairs, simplify the background or choose another source photo. A plain white background can be more useful than an elaborate composition with visible inconsistencies.
Keep real supporting photos
A staged image can establish a setting. It should not be the only evidence of dimensions, fit, texture, or condition. Include real detail photos in the listing and follow the rules for the destination and product category.
