Give your product a setting
A simple tabletop can suit a ceramic mug. A soft studio surface can give a shoe room in the frame. Create a setting in Apple’s Image Playground, then place your real product cutout in front of it in Lightbox.
Start from a real product image
The workflow begins with your photo and a checked cutout. Open AI scenes and describe an empty setting, including the surface, light, and background you need. Choose a result in Image Playground, then review the composition against the original.
A useful prompt describes the environment. For example, ask for a pale stone tabletop, soft window light from the left, and a plain wall. Keep the request specific enough that you can tell whether the result is suitable.
Make the setting support the subject
The scene should leave the product easy to understand. Avoid props that look like included accessories. Keep the scale of nearby objects plausible. Light direction and contact shadows should agree with the lighting already visible on the item.
For a shop collection, choose a small set of surfaces and colors. A recognizable visual style can come from repeating simple choices rather than generating a different scene for every image.
Review what changed
Your product comes from the cutout, while the generated image supplies its surroundings. Compare lettering, stitching, buttons, material texture, and the product’s outline with the source. Check that the cutout and its new setting still show what a buyer would receive.
Keep real detail photos and condition photos in the listing. A staged image can provide context, but it should not be the only evidence of fit, dimensions, or wear. The AI product photography guide includes a review checklist.
A focused still-photo workflow
AI scenes need an iPhone, iPad, or Mac with Apple Intelligence and Image Playground available. Support depends on your device, language, region, and settings. You can choose a photo background when Image Playground is unavailable. Apple’s Image Playground guide for iPhone explains availability and setup.
Lightbox creates backgrounds for still product photos. It does not make AI fashion models, ghost mannequin images, or product videos.
