Questions about Lightbox
Lightbox is a product photo editor for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
How do I try Lightbox?
Request beta access. You’ll need Apple’s TestFlight app and a Lightbox invitation. The invitation shows the available build and device requirements.
Which devices does it run on?
Lightbox runs on iPhone with iOS 18 or later, iPad with iPadOS 18 or later, and Mac with macOS 26.4 or later. On iPad and Mac, it adds a sidebar, an inspector beside the photo, and several windows. Read about Lightbox on Mac and iPad.
Does my library sync between devices?
Yes. Lightbox keeps your photos, their edits and undo history, your templates, and your default export format and template in your own iCloud Drive. They sync to each iPhone, iPad, and Mac signed in to your Apple Account. Without iCloud Drive, the library stays on the device. Read how iCloud sync works.
What can I do with it?
Remove backgrounds, refine a cutout, choose a plain or generated setting, retouch a distraction, and prepare consistent crops for a group of images. Edit a whole shoot at once, and use templates to repeat a layout for your next listing. Read the feature overview.
How much does Lightbox cost?
Lightbox is included in Plus One Pro, $19.99 a month or $199 a year, which also covers Riff, Screen Recording, and Tap Captions, plus the Core apps Bold Sudoku, Bold Weather, Memobound, and Miles. Max includes Lightbox too.
Which devices can use AI scenes?
AI scenes use Apple’s Image Playground and need an iPhone, iPad, or Mac with Apple Intelligence available. Device, language, region, and settings affect availability. You can still choose photo or plain-color backgrounds without it.
Can I publish directly to Etsy or Shopify?
The workflow is to prepare an image, export it, and upload it through the shop or marketplace tools you already use. Lightbox does not publish listings directly. On a Mac or iPad, you can drag finished photos onto a marketplace’s upload page in your browser.
Does Lightbox include video or AI fashion models?
Lightbox edits still product photos. It does not generate video, AI fashion models, or ghost mannequin images. The Photoroom comparison covers an editor that markets those workflows.
Can an AI edit change the product?
Lightbox places your real cutout in front of a generated background. Check the cutout’s edges, shape, lettering, materials, and condition against the original. Keep real detail photos in the listing. Our AI product photography guide explains how to review a generated scene.
Where are my photos processed and stored?
Lightbox edits your photos on the device you are using. The library is stored in your iCloud Drive, or on the device when iCloud Drive is off. Contact the team with other questions about photo processing, storage, and deletion. The company privacy policy explains website data practices.
How do I share feedback?
Use the feedback options in TestFlight or email Iterator. Describe what you were trying to do and which part of the result needs attention.
